黎明是上海附近的一个工人聚集区，上海是中国最富裕的城市。每年都有许多年轻人离开家乡，来到这里。他们年龄在17到20岁之间，都来自云南省的农村地区，距离上海2500公里，长江发源地就在云南。这些云南年轻人通常住在工作地点，宿舍、卫生条件差的房间，有时甚至住在狭小的单间里。他们缺乏相聚的时间和空间，所以只能通过QQ、MSN中国等社交媒体进行交流。他们过着成年人的生活，但内心却依然是青少年。
